Creating Hope to Inspire Ongoing Brain Injury Recovery Craig J. Phillips MRC, BA
Introduction to this eBook
This is my autobiography which includes ongoing brain injury recovery resources. Resources that I have created over the past 17 ½ years and shared on Second Chance to Live. The benefit and bi-product from living with a traumatic brain injury and an invisible disability for 56 years.
In short, I sustained an open skull fracture with right frontal lobe damage, a severe brain bruise, with brain stem involvement. I remained in a coma for 3 weeks. This occurred in 1967 when I was 10 years old at a time when little was known about brain injuries or brain injury recovery.
So when my external wounds healed and I “looked normal” the impact of my traumatic brain injury became invisible. In this brief autobiography, I will share what I learned during different periods of my life and share what I would have helped me if people working with individuals with brain injuries had known 56 years ago.
Current and Future Professionals in Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Recovery
What I share can benefit both current and future professionals who are or maybe working with individuals living with brain injuries. I then go on to share information that has helped in my ongoing brain injury recovery process. Helped me through engaging my mind, body, spirit, soul and emotions. Information gained from my studies as a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counselor.
