Second Chance to Live

Empowering the Individual, Not the Brain Injury

The Importance of Self-Advocacy after a Brain Injury to Own Our Power Keynote Presentation

July 6, 2024 By Second Chance to Live

Introduction

As an individual who has lived with the impact of a traumatic brain injury and an invisibility for 56 years, I have found that self-advocacy has been essential. Essential because I ran into many proverbial “walls” which could have de-railed me. But I am glad that I did not give up.

Give up on my efforts to enhance and improve the quality of my life well-being and my relationships. In the process, I discovered that I alone could own my power. With this realizations, I need to take responsibility. Take the responsibility to own the power that I alone could embrace.

I needed to learn how to own my power in my mind, body, spirit, soul and emotions. The power that would give me the ability to improve and enhance the quality of my life, well-being and relationships.

In this presentation, and in my eBook, I share what helped me to own the power in my mind, body, spirit, soul and emotions. As you listen to this presentation and read my eBook may you be encouraged to own your power. The power that only you can own and develop to improve your life, well-being and relationships.

The quality of your life, well-being and relationships as you are living with the impact of a brain injury.
