Hello and welcome back to Second Chance to Live. I am happy to see that you decided to stop by to visit with me. Today, I want to share with you what I have learned through my personal and professional experience – in obtaining housing assistance.
In the event that you are in need of housing assistance, contact your local Programs for Accessible Living. Ask them for their help in securing affordable housing. Also, ask them about the Neighborhood Development or other related programs in your area/city.
These programs may be able to assist you in securing and paying for a portion of your rent. In the event that you have not already applied with the Housing Authority in your area / city, please visit their office and ask to meet with a case worker to assist you.
The Program for Accessible Living and the Neighborhood development – or related program (s) – may be able to assist you with your rent until your application with the Housing Authority is accepted and approved. My experience has taught me that if I don’t ask, I may not get.
A friend of mine said some thing to me many years ago – that has stuck with me. Let me share what he shared with me – “Nothing ventured, nothing gained”. My experience has proven that I have needed to and continue to need to take an active role in my process.
