Second Chance to Live

Empowering the Individual, Not the Brain Injury

How Can I Be of Service to You?

October 14, 2024 By Second Chance to Live

“When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.” Helen Keller

“I am only one, but still I am one.I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do.” Helen Keller

“Insist on yourself, never imitate. Your own gift you can present with the cumulative force of a whole life’s cultivation, but of the adopted talent of another, you only have an extemporaneous half-possession. Do that which is assigned to you and you cannot hope too much or dare too much.” Henry David Thoreau

“Don’t quit. Never give up trying to build the world you can see, even if others can’ see it. Listen to your own drum and your own drum only. It is the one that makes the sweetest sound.” Simon Sineck

Nearly 18 Years

In February 2025 I will be celebrating 18 years since I created Second Chance to Live. I created Second Chance to Live to answer a call that never came. What I mean, never came, is that due to unknown residuals from an open skull fracture and a traumatic brain injury I had a 20 year history of getting and losing jobs. Both non-professional and professional jobs, despite being able to obtain both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. Despite after 2 state department of vocational rehabilitation evaluations being determined to be unemployable. Despite after 3 SSDI applications and eventual approval I was determined to find a way to use my gifts, talents and abilities to fulfill my purpose and to be of service.

Be Determined to Fulfill Your Purpose

To be of service to the domestic and international brain injury community. And as I have written articles, created video presentations, keynote presentations and written eBooks (since February 2006) my motivation has been to encourage. To encourage individuals, like myself, who are living with the impact of a brain injury to find a way to use their gifts, talents and abilities to pursue their purpose and be of service. To grow in awareness and acceptance of what cannot be changed to discover what can be changed. Changed to enhance their lives, well-beings and relationships through a holistic recovery process. An ongoing brain injury holistic recovery process in mind, body, spirit, soul and emotions by not giving up.

By not giving up on their process, the God of their understanding and themselves, as more will be revealed.
