Hello and welcome back to Second Chance to Live my friend. Thank you for stopping by to visit with me. Please do remember that you are always welcome around my table. Yesterday my Mom — who is a tremendous blessing to me — forwarded a message to me that included a quote. As I have reflected upon that quote I found myself being encouraged and inspired. Consequently, I wanted to share the quote with you.
“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize that they were the big things.” Robert Brault
I found myself being encouraged and inspired by the message (s) with in that quote for the following reasons. The message in the quote inspires me to use what has been given to me — now. The message of the quote makes no suggestions as to limitation. The message inherent with in the quote releases me from the urge to be any where other than where I am in the present moment. The message in the quote encourages me to take full advantage of what might otherwise appear to be insignificant or of little value.
The message inherent with in the quote releases me from the bondage in believing that I need to have an outcome to live a full life. The quote encourages and inspires me to relish small things as big things.
The message inspires me to trust the process and to savor my successes…regardless of how small those successes may appear to be at the present time. The message of the quote also reminds me that I don’ have to be more than I am. The message of the quote releases me from the illusion of control because I can be in the now. The message of the quote reminds me that the little things design my process.
The message of the quote inspires me to cherish my circumstances because I realize that they are the seeds of my destiny.
Today’s Thought
Regardless of how our lot in life may appear — whether we are a traumatic brain injury survivor, a person living with a visible or an invisible disability, a family member of a traumatic / acquired brain injury survivor or a caregiver serving those individuals — we can cherish the little things in our lives. By enjoying the little things in our lives we will create positive memories and in the process we will water the seeds of our destiny.
You and I do not have to wait to live our lives.
