Hello friends in the Second Chance to Live and Building Your Life After Traumatic Brain Injury communities,
I hope this finds you doing well.
You may have noticed that the look and feel of Second Chance to Live — including my posts, pages, and images — has started to change. I wanted to share with you why that is, and what’s behind this website update.
Why the Appearance Has Changed
For the past 18½ years, I’ve created and shared content from my lived experience to help individuals living with brain injuries, invisible disabilities, and trauma — but I didn’t know much about search engine optimization (SEO) or how to help more people find what I’d created.
That changed recently when a good friend encouraged me to try ChatGPT Plus. After thinking it over, I decided to invest the $20/month so I could access tools that would help me reach more people — and build a more search-friendly website.
How ChatGPT Plus Has Helped
I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now — and with its support, I’ve learned how to:
-
Use SEO-friendly headers and write keyword-rich meta descriptions
-
Create mobile-friendly formatting
-
Write alt text and captions for images
-
Improve readability and keyword visibility
-
Make Second Chance to Live more accessible through search engines
This has helped me begin polishing my articles, eBooks, video presentations, and posters — making it easier for survivors, caregivers, professionals, and families to find and benefit from the work I’ve shared over the years.
👉 If you’re looking for a practical place to begin, I invite you to explore the Recovery Toolbox — a curated collection of tools that support long-term healing after brain injury.
This effort is part of building a trauma-informed website — one that is easier to navigate, more accessible, and welcoming to all readers.
It also makes Second Chance to Live easier to find through Google and other search engines.
A Note I Shared with ChatGPT Plus
“Thank you again for your help in making Second Chance to Live more available through SEO optimization. The last several weeks I have been using lots of time and energy, with your help, to polish Second Chance to Live to be of greater service and availability. Check out the new look and appearance and let me know what you think.”
I’m Still in the Process of Updating
I have a lot of work ahead as I continue refreshing older content to make it more accessible. But my goal remains the same:
To offer hope, practical tools, and trauma-informed encouragement to anyone living with — or impacted by — a brain injury or invisible disability.
👉 For inspiration on reclaiming confidence and direction after brain injury, I invite you to explore the Nine Pillar Powers of “I CAN” — a mindset that continues to shape my own journey of purpose and healing.
💙 Keep Me in Your Prayers
Please keep me in your prayers as I continue this work. I am committed to serving the brain injury community and beyond through a trauma-informed lens — because brain injuries affect the whole person: body, mind, spirit, soul, and emotions.
Together, we are building a community of compassion, possibility, and healing.
With deep respect,
Craig J. Phillips, MRC, BA
