Some Food for thought. Please share your reflections with me. Thank you my friends.
“I believe that our passions never die. A brain injury, a disability or any type of adversity for that matter is merely a switch on the railroad of life that points us off into a direction that we would not have normally gone. In my experience, God has led me in such a way to use the gifts, talents and abilities that He has given me in ways that work for me. I have found that God is not limited, just some times my thinking limits me.
I like a quote by Helen Keller, “When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us”.
What I look to do through Second Chance to Live – with God’s help and leading — is to encourage, motivate, empower and instill hope into my audience, with the end that they will look for the door (s) that are opening for them to use their gifts, talent and abilities in ways that work for them for the people that want what they have to give.
I also believe that our gifts, talents and abilities are not of us, but through us. Gifts on loan from God. We just get to go along for the ride. Consequently, we can trust that a loving God will lead, guide and direct our steps — as we depend on Him — to use the gifts, talents and abilities that He has given to us, in ways that work for us.
In my experience, I have also found that following my bliss has not been an event, but a process. This reality has set me free to experience the process and not wait to live life until I arrive at some destination. This too has been a process for me. More will be revealed – in time.”
