Second Chance to Live

Empowering the Individual, Not the Brain Injury

Second Chance to Live — Lessons from my Journey — More Insights Gained Part 8

November 11, 2013 By Craig

Hello and welcome back to Second Chance to Live. I am happy you decided to stop by to visit with me. Thank you. In Part 7 of this article I shared some of the insights that I wanted to share during my keynote presentation at the Southwest Conference on Disability 2013. I would invite you to read each part of this article series by clicking on these links: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6 and Part 7.

Each Part builds upon what I shared in previous Part (s) of the article series.

In the 8th and final Part of this article series I will share few of the other insights that I have learned on my journey and would have liked to have shared at the conference. I go into more detail in articles that I have written for Second Chance to Live. If you would like me to share more information with you surrounding what I shared in the Parts of this article series, please let me know my friend. I would be happy to share more detail with you.

Don’t invest in outcomes. Celebrate planting seeds. Enjoy the process and the journey.

Be who you are, not who some one thinks you should be.

You don’t have to prove anything. Use what works best for you.

Everyone can build something beautiful on their lot.

It is not as important as what happened to us, as how we respond to what happened to us.

I need to make peace with my past, so that my past does not spoil my present.

God uses the cracks in our pots. Be encouraged.

Multicolored threads, tapestries and a beautiful legacy. What may not make sense now, will make perfect sense, in time.

Circumstances are my teachers. Am I learning?

Excellence, not perfection. One bite at a time.

No longer when, but now. Enjoy the little things.

Learning curves. There is no such thing as failure.

Pain is not my nemesis, but an opportunity.

Identification rather than comparison. Creativity is a process.

Humility is not to be confused with humiliation.

As you read this article and questions come to mind, please send those questions to me. All questions are good question. In the event that you would like to leave a comment, I would love to hear from you. You may send your question (s) or comment (s) by clicking on this link: Contact Page.
