In yesterday’s article My Trip to my Mom’s Birthday I spoke about a lesson that I learned through my travels. In today’s article I would like to share a blessing that I received after I returned home from visiting with my Mom and celebrating her birthday. The blessing that I received was in the form of an email, that I would like to share with you. The email came from a lady that I interacted with for a brief period of time on a returning flight.
“Hello, Craig! Just wanted to say thank you one more time for helping me put my suitcase up on the flight from Phoenix to Dallas! You are such a powerful personality. It wasn’t just me, I saw how you interacted with everyone around us on that flight. You are such a breath of fresh air. Thank you for being you!” Dawn H.
Her kind email was just what I needed, a word of encouragement; to encourage me to keep being myself in my interactions.
Thank you so very much Dawn. Your kindness in taking the time to write and send your email helped me tremendously, as I sometimes wonder if being who I am — in my desire to encourage, motivate, empower and share hope — is making a difference as I go about my business.

“Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person.” Mother Teresa
For many years I felt like some one all dressed up with nowhere to go, despite my hard work and determination. When I reached a point in time when I realized that I could not contribute in a traditional setting, my focus changed. I realized that I needed to create a way to contribute in a way that would work for me. In the below 2 part written article and video presentation I share what that process looked like to me. That is when I set out to find a way that would work for me — a way to use my gifts, talents and abilities — through Second Chance to Live and Create a Spark of Hope

Dawn’s email made a huge difference because I was questioning my efforts through Second Chance to Live and Create a Spark of Hope. Her email gave me the “shot in the arm” that I definitely needed. Thank you again Dawn!!! God used you in a BIG WAY in my life my friend!!!
Today’s Thought
My encouragement to you is to keep being who you are, as you go about your business. Although you may have people who overtly or covertly discourage you from being you, keep being yourself. Realize that the impact of your life is creating echoes and ripples. You are creating a “foot print” on your generation. Look for people to be kind to as you live your life. Realize that your life is having a profound impact on people in your world and be encouraged.
