Second Chance to Live

Empowering the Individual, Not the Brain Injury

Second Chance to Live – You are a Gift to Your World!

November 18, 2007 By Second Chance to Live

Hi, and welcome back to Second Chance to Live. You are always welcome at my table. I have been thinking about something that I highlighted when I first created Second Chance to Live on February 6, 2007. At the time of the creation I placed a phrase on the front of my web site; You are a Gift to your World! The reason I created Second Chance to Live was to encourage, motivate and empower my readers to look beyond their circumstances. Please read my post Motivation. Our circumstances are not meant to keep us down, but to build us up because they point us in the direction of our destinies.

Majesty is made known though our presence and we become conduits of the benevolent grace of a loving God through those circumstances. We are strengthened through our experiences that are gained through learning from those circumstances. You and I were created to be victors and not victims. You and I were birthed to fulfill a destiny that is yet to positively impact our generation and future generations to come my friend. You are a bright and shinning star and you will lead those in your world to a high place. Your presence and the gifts that you bring to your world will set the captives free and lead those who are shrouded in darkness to a renewed hope.

You may not see the gift that resides with in you, but I do my friend. You may ask yourself, “How does he know?” and to that question I will answer, “Because you are alive.” Hope resides within you. Your decision to learn from your circumstances will empower you to be led in the direction of your dreams. Your decision to be who you were created to become in this life empowers the gifts that reside within you to flourish. You may think you are limited, and you may have limitations, but you are not those limitations. You have the ability to move beyond and accomplish more than you realize my friend.

Per illustration, I became aware of this reality in a renewed way this past Thursday when I participated in what was billed as “Doubled Trouble” for weeks. As I have previously mentioned, I am training towards my black belt in mixed martial arts. At 50 I am in pretty good shape, however I did not realize how good of shape I am in until I participated in the 90-minute “Double Trouble” kickboxing class. Our Sensei pushed us during this kick boxing class and I am so glad that I did not give up on the process. Through the experience I came to realize that I am able to thrive through an experience that I previously saw as ominous. Consequently, I was empowered through my experience.

Our circumstances and experiences are the vehicles that empower us to move beyond what we previously thought were limitations.

I believe that our creative capacity to thrive is waiting to be discovered. The gifts that we bring to our world are waiting to be birthed. Our circumstances and experiences are the vehicles that empower us to move beyond what we previously thought were limitations. As we take advantage of the opportunities that are given to us, our capacity to be a gift to our world grows in proportion to our willingness to learn. As we make the choice to see ourselves as empowered beings, rather than as doings encumbered by limitations we move in the direction of our destinies. We are a gift to our world because we chose to not give up on the process, on a loving God or on ourselves.

Be encouraged my friend because more will be revealed. We are being prepared to thrive in the midst of our limitations. You and I are being prepared to be more effective through our experiences. Our opportunities are ushering us in the direction of dreams. Our destinies are taking form because we have a future and a hope and We are a Gift to Our World!

“If you advance confidently in the direction or your dreams and endeavor to live the life that you have imagined… you will meet with success unexpected in common hours.” Henry David Thoreau
