Second Chance to Live

Empowering the Individual, Not the Brain Injury

Living Beyond Limitations–Meditation–The Doorway to the Infinite

November 4, 2011 By Second Chance to Live

Hello and welcome back to Second Chance to Live my friend. Thank you for deciding to stop by to visit with me. I am always happy to see you around my table. Today I want to share some thing with you that I have found to be beneficial in my daily planning. Each morning when I wake up I spend time meditating. Meditation can be done in many different ways. In my experience, I meditate by lying in my bed. Initially, I spend time thanking God for his goodness to me and then I quite myself. As I quiet myself, I begin to reflect upon my thoughts as my heart speaks to me mind and my mind to my heart.

As I quiet myself, I begin by thanking God for His goodness to me. As I thank God for His goodness, I begin to listen to my breathing and my heart. As I listen to my breathing and my heart I listen and reflect upon my thoughts. As I meditate, I listen to my heart as my heart speaks to my mind and my mind to my heart.

As I quite myself, I open myself up to the God of the infinite. As I open myself up to the God of the infinite, I reflect upon the messages that I receive from the peace that I sense from with in my being. As I continue to listen – from the peace that I receive – I continue to draw upon the leading I receive from the midst of my being. The leading may only be a thought or several words, but those thoughts and words gain further clarity as I use another tool in my meditative process. In my experience, I have found this tool to be very useful. The tool involves a pen and a piece of paper.  As I write reflectively using long hand not printing — not worrying about penmanship or spelling — I let my writing flow with each thought.

As I write, I gain further clarity. As I develop the thoughts and words — that I receive from the first part of my meditation –  I open the door to the infinite. As I open the door to the infinite, I gain further guidance from the God of the infinite. I gain this guidance as I turn my will and my life over to the care of a loving God. As I write, I receive both guidance and direction as I plan my day. Once I have completed the process, I let go and go about my day. As I go about my day, I trust in the process and a loving God — of the infinite — to lead and guide my process, as I seek to use what I learned through my meditation and reflective writing.

As I proceed with my day, I continue to listen for guidance. As I listen, I open myself up to being of used – my gifts, talents and abilities. As I invite a loving God to lead and guide me in my process, I am able to move beyond my comprehension. As I ask the God of the infinite to lead and guide me, I am able to be of service beyond my finite human limitations. As I rely on a loving God, I am able to stop depending on my abilities, because I know that I can depend on His Ability to use my abilities. As I ask the God of the infinite to use my life – as He may – I am able to live my life beyond my limitations.

Today’s Thought

I am thankful that I no longer have to be limited by my limitations. I am grateful that I no longer have to be limited by my own understanding. I am thankful that I can ask the God of the infinite – a loving God – to guide and direct my steps. I am thankful that I no longer have to rely on my abilities. I am thankful that I can be more than what I once thought I could be in this life. I am grateful that I can use prayer, meditation and reflect writing as the doorway to the infinite.
