In my experience, my experience with powerless, lapses into crazy making behavior and feelings of hopelessness all led me to a point of recognizing that I have little power over people, places and things. In the midst of my realization – that I was powerless and my life had become unmanageable – I discovered that hope did indeed exist. My feelings of powerlessness, ongoing anxiety and my feelings of hopelessness all provided the catalyst that motivated me to look beyond myself…
To a power greater than myself – a loving God – who could restore me to sanity and make my life manageable. To a loving God who could and would – if sought — empower my life far beyond my illusion of being able to control people, places and things to avoid my fear (s).
What I discovered was the realization that my feelings of powerlessness, my insane behavior – doing the same things over and over again expecting different results – my obsessive thinking and my feelings of hopelessness were all being used as a catalyst to lead me to hope. Lead me to a power greater than myself – a loving God – who could empower me, help me to stop my insane behavior, give me peace and help me to find the solutions to end the crazy making experience that led to my feeling hopeless.
Today’s thought
The good news is that I do not have to be alone in my powerlessness and unmanageability. I can reach out beyond myself and ask for help from a loving God. I can ask a loving God to restore me to sanity. I can ask for help and I can find solutions. I can find solutions to restore me to sane behavior. I can find solutions that will bring me peace. I can find solutions to end my crazy making experience. I can find solutions that will lead me back to hope. I can find solutions to empower and make my life manageable.
