Living with a brain injury and an invisible disability can evoke a sense of similarity to the characters in the movie, “The Wizard of Oz”. Feeling as if our intelligence, motivation, courage and ambition have somehow disappeared. Disappeared because of the impact of our brain injury. Like the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion who yearned for a brain, heart, and courage respectively.
And as Dorothy discovered after the great Oz’s identity was revealed, she always had the power to go home. The Scarecrow always had a brain, the Tin man always had heart and the Cowardly Lion always had courage. They just needed to be reminded of that by the Great OZ.
After we experience a brain injury have forgotten that we have the power we are seeking. As a result, we may need to have someone to remind us of what we thinking may be missing. In this video presentation eBook, I will share with you what helped me to realize that I had power.
The power that helped me to realize that I could create my new normal. That I could learn how to use my gifts, talents and abilities in ways that would work for me. That I had the smarts, heart and courage to empower me to pursue my hopes and dreams after my traumatic brain injury.
May this eBook inspire and encourage you to create your new normal. Inspire you to discover how to use your gifts, talents and abilities in ways that will work for you. Inspire you to use your gifts, talents and abilities to empower your hopes and dreams after your traumatic or acquired brain injury.
