Second Chance to Live

Empowering the Individual, Not the Brain Injury

Second Chance to Live — 9th Year Anniversary

February 6, 2016 By Second Chance to Live

Creating Hope in the World

Hello and welcome back to Second Chance to Live my friend. Today is the 9th year anniversary of when I put the plan into action. For many years I felt like some one all dressed up with nowhere to go. Despite my hard work and determination no one seemed to want what I had to bring to the table. After many, many years of trying to make my life “fit”, academically and vocationally; I was deemed unemployable and disabled. For those individuals who are not aware, you may read my about page for greater insight into my process and journey: My About Page. I am thankful that a loving God gave me the grace and determination to keep moving forward, when giving up could have been an easy option. I write this article to encourage you to keep going. Don’t give up. Stay committed to your process.

Although you may have been told that you are unemployable (my First, Second Vocational Rehabilitation Experiences) or have been declared disabled, don’t give up. Like me, you may have a passion to do something; but no one recognized or recognizes your value: Answering the Call that Never Came Pursuing Our Destinies. Like me, you may have hit walls, had challenges, faced obstacles or experienced set backs: Back Story of Second Chance to Live Part 1 and Back Story of Second Chance to Live Part 2. Although you may be unemployable and disabled, my encouragement to you is: Don’t Let Anyone tell You — You Aren’t Enough. My encouragement to you my friend is to Run Your Own Race and Stay the Course in Time.

I share the highlighted links through the above paragraph to share my experience with you. Click on the links and you can read about my experiences. I am glad that I did not give up. My encouragement to you is to not give up. My motivation is to encourage you to pursue your passion. Look for ways to express your creativity and display your gifts, talents and abilities in ways that work for you. You, as I do, have a unique way to be of service to the people in your world. My encouragement to you is to start and see where your process and journey takes you my friend. Start slow. Don’t despise the day of small beginnings. Begin to look at your circumstance in a new light. Learn from them as pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Use them to create hope in your life. Use them to create hope in your world. Use them to create hope in your sphere of influence. Use them and let go. Use them and be yourself.

Be who you are, trust and let go. Be who you are, and trust the process. Be who you are, and trust a loving God. Be who you are, and trust yourself. Be who you are, and let go of the timing. Be who you are, and trust that the dots will connect forward. Be who you are, and run your race. Be who you are, and stay committed to your course. Be who you are and celebrate the gift that you are to your world. Be who you are, and be fully and completely alive.

More will be revealed to you and to me in time. The pieces of the puzzle will come together at the right time and in the right order. Be encouraged.

“You don’t have to be a ‘person of influence’ to be influential. In fact, the most influential people in my life are probably not even aware of the things they’ve taught me.” Scott Adams

“Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us.” Wilma Rudolph

“I believe that God has put gifts and talents and ability on the inside of every one of us. When you develop that and you believe in yourself and you believe that you’re a person of influence and a person of purpose, I believe you can rise up out of any situation.” Joel Osteen

“To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.” Anatole France

“Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” Carl Jung

“If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” Henry David Thoreau

“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” Thomas Edison

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” Winston Churchill
