My Perspective
I believe our circumstances are not meant to keep us down, but they are meant to build us up. Although I once believed that circumstances were merely a gantlet to be survived, I now see them as empowering agents.
I believe our circumstances provide us with lessons that teach us things that we would not otherwise be able to learn. Circumstances open our eyes to what we once were unable to see, behold and understand.
I believe that the lessons that we learn prepare us to take advantage of opportunities, as they become available. I believe these opportunities provide us with more opportunities to learn and grow as individuals.
These new opportunities to learn — new lessons — in turn prepare us to grow in our ability to take advantage of new opportunities that become available to us with time. These opportunities give us new tools to live our lives.
I believe that — collectively — our circumstances, lessons, experiences and opportunities are pointing us in the direction of our destiny. I believe that more will be revealed in time and that I do not need to have the big picture.
I believe that I can trust the process, a loving God and myself. I believe my gifts, talents and abilities are not of me, but through me — gifts, talents and abilities on loan from God. I just get to go along for the ride and be available to be of service.
