Over the weekend I have been talking and thinking about what makes you and I great as individuals. Let me share some of my thoughts with you. What makes you and I great is not what is outside of us, but what resides inside of us.
Consequently, no one can minimize, marginalize or discount the reality of what makes you and I great — regardless of their position or stature. Consequently, what other people think of us no longer has to dictate what does or does not make us special.
With this in mind we can be free to pursue our passions — through our gifts, talents and abilities — in ways that work for us. We can set our course and keep moving.
Although our passions may not meet the expectations of other people’s opinions you and I can stay committed to our vision and mission.
Some Quote that Encourage my Greatness
I like quotes as they are poignant reminders of what I know to be true. Quotes buttress my reality. The words in quotes some times are not as important as the meaning that exists behind the words. One such quote reminds me that I am best when I pursue who I am, when I pursue what makes me special.
My mother said to me, “If you are a soldier, you will become a general. If you are a monk, you will become the Pope.” Instead, I was a painter, and became Picasso.” Pablo Picasso
When I pursue that which is in me I can not fail. Through being true to what makes me special I am able to paint a wonderful picture with my life. By staying committed to what makes me special I am given a unique ability. I am able to create with my being. Because I am special I am able to make a difference with my life and I am able to be a gift to my world.
“Something I have learned through my experience is that some people do not eyes to see. Nevertheless, their inability to see does not negate the reality that rainbows do exist.” Craig J. Phillips

“Insist on yourself, never imitate. Your own gift you can present every moment with the cumulative force of a whole life’s cultivation; but of the adopted talent of another you have only an extemporaneous half-possession…Do that which is assigned to you and you can not hope too much or dare too much.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
