Hi and welcome back to Second Chance to Live my friend. I am happy you decided to stop by and visit with me. You are always welcome around my table. A group of my friends were discussing the topic of wonder this evening. Not the kind of wonder, like I wonder why… but the type of wonder that can take your and my breath away. Different ideas were shared but the one that stood out to me was the idea of awe.
Too many times in life, we as humans can take for granted the small things that life magically bestows upon us. We can find ourselves discounting the spectacular for the mundane because our eyes are focusing on matters over which we are powerless. In our busyness we forget to notice the magnificence of the seeming insignificant. Our ability to experience gratitude is overshadowed by unrealistic expectations.
Life becomes magical because it is, not because I qualify the mystery.
In my experience I have found when I am comfortable in my own skin I am open to behold the splendor that is all around me. I am freed from the need to compare my lot in life. I am able to revel in the beauty that lies within my being, while enjoying what pulses around me. When I am at peace with myself, I am able to cease from my striving and relish in the sublime.
Our journeys are unique to our own experience. The road we are walking may seem unfair at times, but I have good news. We don’t have to walk by ourselves. We can be aware. We can stay alert to the mystery that is unfolding before our very eyes. Because we choose be to present in and through our experience — wonder will surely be made manifest. Our eyes will be opened to behold the mystery that is yet to be…
Your path may be confusing at times, but don’t loose hope.
My friend, you are not alone in your process. You have a friend who sticks closer than a brother. You can depend upon the guidance that you receive from that source. You don’t have to lean on your own understanding. You can trust the process, you can trust a loving God, and you can trust in your ability to learn from the wonder of your circumstances. Enjoy your process. Enjoy the journey. Stay present for yourself.
