Hello and welcome back to Second Chance to Live my friend. I hope you are doing well today. I was in a meeting several days ago. In that meeting I shared an analogy to provide an illustration. The meeting was on dealing with difficult situations and people. I likened dealing with difficult people and situations to “irritants”. I went on to share what I discovered. How I relate to these “irritants” determines how I experience my life.
In nature a phenomenon occurs — because of an irritant. Something beautiful and magnificent is created. Oysters and clams create pearls of great value because of irritants that enter their worlds (shells).
In the same way, some thing beautiful can be formed with in us – because of an irritant. When an irritant comes in to our lives, we can make a decision. We can choose to see the irritant in different ways. We can see the irritant as unpleasant, bothersome, a hassle, headache and an inconvenience. Or we can see the irritant as a gift, a teacher and an opportunity. A gift to reveal some thing about who we are as an individual.
A teacher that provides a lesson that is meant to instruct us. An opportunity to birth something beautiful in us. A way to find a new freedom, once hidden from us. A personal insight to direct our lives in a new way. A way to find fulfillment, once unknown.
A lesson that will provide a “tool” to equip and empower our process, lives and journeys. An opportunity to provide the piece of a puzzle that we have been searching for, but unable to find. An understanding that will give us the ability to share our experience strength and hope. A wisdom that will empower us to share from the power of identification. A grace that will empower our ability to move out of the shadows of isolation and regret.
A grace that will mold what appears to be an irritant into a pearl of great value.
