Hello and welcome back to Second Chance to Live my friend. I am so happy to see that you decided to stop by to visit with me. You are always welcome around my table. Over the past several days I have been thinking about a particular statement that is made mention in the Old Testament. The statement reminds the reader to not despise the day of small beginnings. As I meditated upon the meaning of the statement I had these thoughts.
My life is experienced in time…seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years. My experience has proven several realities. I do not have the big picture and I can not know how the pieces of my experience are going to fit together in the scheme of the big picture. Consequently, circumstances and events may occur — some times — that make little or no sense to me or have my approval for that matter. As I continued to think about not despising the day of small beginnings the message became clearer.
It’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters. Epictetus
How I choose to respond to the events and circumstances that occur in my life will determine if I do or I don’t despise the day of small beginnings. What may appear to be trivial and either bothersome may prove to be the door that opens a world of fresh possibilities. My experience has proven that when I make the decision to learn from what I may otherwise consider to be inconvenient my eyes are opened. As my eyes are opened I am able to consider the possibilities.
Case in point that happened to me this morning.
Please read Part 2. Thank you.
