Welcome back to Second Chance to Live. I am glad you made the decision to stop by and visit with me. Over the last several days I have been sharing thoughts on Revealing your Destiny. In the 3rd and final installment of this series I will share some strategies that have helped me to find my destiny. I believe that my awareness has grown with time and that more will be revealed. Second Chance to Live is an expression of my destiny, an outcropping of hope, and a tool to empower. Living life on life’s terms empowers me to benefit from my circumstances, regardless of how those circumstances may look at the time.
My circumstances do not have to dictate how I experience my life. I can choose to dictate how my circumstances impact my life. I am a person, who has an invisible disability, but I am not that disability. I have deficits and limitations, but I am not those deficits and limitations. My experiences as a person with a traumatic brain injury do not define who I am in this life. I am how I chose to use my invisible disability, my deficits and limitations and my experiences. I am a spiritual being having a human existence, but my existence does not define who I am. My being defines who I am, not my doing. (Please read my post, Thriving with a Disability) Life merely provides the ingredients to optimize my being. My being empowers me to fulfill my destiny.
Motivation
If I am not motivated by love I will become a human doing. If I love God I will have faith. Faith becomes an expression of my being, not my doing. I AM therefore I do, NOT I DO therefore I am. Doing does not qualify my being, but my being qualifies my doing. Doing for the sake of doing frequently results from having misguided motivations. Merely doing for the sake of doing often leads to resentment and disappointment. Conversely, through being I am empowered to fulfill my destiny. Kindness motivates love and love encourages being and being gives from love. If I do not watch my motives, I will become a human doing, rather than a human being that can be used by a loving God to bring hope through love.
