For many years I focused on what I could not do, instead of focusing on what I could do.
Instead of realizing that I could focus on being the best I can be, just for today.
You see, I felt a tremendous amount of shame for not being enough.
For not getting it right “now”, not realizing that I had a learning disability.
A learning disability that takes me longer to learn.

Learn things without doing them over and over again.
Shame (Should Have Already Mastered Everything)
Shame, through blame and criticism, distracted me from realizing and embracing my style of learning.
Distracted me from accepting the rate and pace in which I learn.
Shame told me that I needed to already master everything (now) to be able to think good about myself.
This way of thinking kept me frustrated and disappointed at myself because I did not see my progress as a work in process.
Just for Today
This morning; as I spent some time processing my thoughts as I wrote in a journal.
As I wrote in my journal I was reminded of something that encouraged me.
Encouraged me with the realization that all I need to do is my best, just for today.
And as I Do my Best, I Can Celebrate the Progess I make today.
Out of my Control
My realization reminded me that I can do nothing about yesterday or tomorrow.
My realization reminded to let go of yesterday, and not worry about tomorrow.
Just for Today
