Life is likened to… Making New Year's Resolutions

Hello and welcome back to Second Chance to Live my friend. Thank you for making the decision to stop by to visit with me. Two days from now will be New Year’s Eve. At this time the topic of new years resolutions come up in discussions. Several days ago I wrote an article Life is likened too… As you consider your new year’s resolution, may I encourage you to —  as I need to encourage myself — use what I share in this article as part of your resolution.

“Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.” Carl Bard

Life is a process, likened to a puzzle. Pieces of a puzzle that fit together one piece at a time. Life is also likened to baking a cake. One ingredient at a time. I believe ingredients are likened to circumstances. As I learn from the circumstances — that I am given – I gain ingredients. Ingredients are lessons. Life is likened to a journey and a process that reveals circumstances, lessons and opportunities that collectively point me in the direction of my destiny as I stay willing to learn.

Trust is the substance that holds my experiences, lessons and opportunities together as I bake my cake. Life is likened to a tapestry that has two sides. One side with many different colored threads that seem jumbled and out of sorts. On the other side of the tapestry, a beautiful legacy is being created — beyond what I can see or imagine. Life is likened to a school house where I learn how to combine circumstances, lessons, experiences and opportunities that guide me to bake my cake and complete my puzzle.

And as I trust, I able to see how each ingredient and piece of my puzzle is being used to lead me to my destiny. Although I may not understand how each ingredient will play a part in baking my cake, I move forward. Although I may not see the next piece of my puzzle yet, I do not give up on my process, a loving God or myself. I trust that I will be given the ingredients to bake my cake. I trust that each piece of my puzzle will appear and fall into place at the right time and in the right order. I trust that more will be revealed to me in time.

Today’s Thought

In the event that you may be struggling with what has or is occurring in your life, may I encourage you with this my friend. Begin to see your life as a process, a tapestry and a school house. You will be given every ingredient that you need to bake your cake. The ingredients will not be late. The pieces of your puzzle will appear and fall into place at the right time and in the right order. Your circumstances, lessons, experiences and opportunities are being used for your good. To lead you to your destiny. To create a beautiful legacy.

So do not give up your process, a loving God or yourself. Trust that more will be revealed to you in time.
