Hello and welcome back to Second Chance to Live. I am happy to see that you decided to stop by to visit with me. Thank you. In Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4 and Part 5 of this article series I shared some foundational awareness’s. These awareness’s helped me to start taking steps to love and accept myself. In Part 6 of this article series, I shared some of the steps that I took to love and accept myself because of those awareness’s.
In Part 7 of this series I share some of the insights that I gained through taking steps to love and accept myself. These are some of the insights that I wanted to share during my keynote presentation at the Southwest Conference on Disability 2013, however did not have the time to do so. I will share some more insights in Part 8 of this article series.
Any adversity is merely a switch on the railroad of life that points us off in a direction that we would not have otherwise gone. The switch is directing us in the direction of our destinies.
To love and accept myself I need to first grieve my reality, before I can accept my reality.
My passions never die, regardless of how my adversity my affect may mind, body or spirit. My responsibility is to discover how I can use my passions in ways that work for me.
Like the caterpillar that becomes the butterfly that soars above the treetops, struggle is a good thing. Struggle makes my wings stronger too. With out the struggle, the butterfly would die.
Babe Ruth had the most home runs of the day. He also was the one who had the most strike outs. When asked, Babe said, every time I swing at the ball I have a chance to hit a home run.
Thomas Edison, when asked about failing10,000 times said, “”I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” He went on to discover many inventions.
A champion is some one who gets up more times than he / she falls down.
Dreams don’t die, unless people give them up. How I execute those dreams may change, because of the adversity that becomes part of my life. Adversities empower my dreams.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. After many steps, I am able to look back and see how far I have come, because I kept walking and did not give up.
With out ingredients, no cake can be baked. Living life is about gathering and combining ingredients to bake various kinds of “cakes”.
