A week ago I was in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Southwest Conference on Disability 2013. I had a great time and wonderful opportunities to meet and spend some quality time with people that I met while at the conference. Thank you all for being so gracious to me. The time was truly memorable.
During my keynote presentation I shared from pieces of my life’s experience. I shared what I learned through my process and along my journey. I shared bits and pieces from each part of my process: Growing up, Education, Work Life, Brain injury awareness, Lessons I learned, Martial arts, Second Chance to Live and Quotes that empower. I had 25 – 30 minutes to share a lifetime of lessons and experience. As you might imagine, I was unable to but scratch the surface during those 30 minutes.
Because I realized that I could not fit in all that I would like to have share in that brief window of time, I wrote an article to share more detail. If you would like to read more detail than what I was able to share in my keynote presentation, please click on this link: More Detail. The purpose of this article series is to begin to share some of the lessons that I wanted to share during my presentation, but did not have the time to do so my friend. What I am going to share in this article series is very personal.
My motivation is to share from the power of identification: The Power of Identification
In my experience, I have found the principle of the 3 A’s. Awareness, Acceptance and Action. The 3 A’s help me to process each lesson. In my experience, I have found that I first have to have awareness, before I can get to a place of acceptance so that I can do something different – or take action.
