Hello and welcome back to Second Chance to Live my friend. I want to share something with you that I have not shared before. For many years of my life I had a tremendous difficulty trusting. I lived my life in a guarded state, reluctant to let other people know me. Reality was that I did not know me for many years. So much of my time and energy was tied up in trying to appease other people so that I would not feel feelings of shame for not being enough. I am so grateful that I have been able to connect with myself through my process and my journey.
Part of the way that I have learned how to trust and connect with myself has been through writing. I have shared with you that a friend encouraged me to start a blog to share what he posited, “Your information is ripe for a blog” I am thankful for his encouragement and so glad that I took the risk to start my web log, Second Chance to Live on February 6, 2007. In the process of writing articles, I have grown in my ability to love and accept myself in my reality. In the process, of sharing myself I have grown in my ability to trust myself on my journey.
I want to encourage you, as my friend encouraged me my friend to create a web blog and start sharing your experience with other people. There are different free blogging platforms. I use WordPress.com. You can write and post articles anonymously or share your name — if and when you feel safe enough to do so. As I have shared – through my articles — I have learned a tremendous amount about myself. In the process, I have been able to find the freedom to come out from the shadows of isolation. As I have reached out, people have reached back to me.
