Hello and welcome back to Second Chance to Live my friend. I am happy to see that you decided to stop by to visit with me. My Mom forwarded some thing on to me today. My Mom is a tremendous blessing to me. Thank you Mom. What she sent to me gave me the idea to write about greatness.
Each one of us has been created with genes of greatness that empower our ability to overcome adversity.
In 1976 Nadia Comaneci entered the Olympics Games. She was the Romanian athlete who was 14 years old at the time and would attend competitions holding her teddy bear. Nadia was the first gymnast to score a perfect 10. She went on to score 6 more perfect 10’s and win 3 gold medals.
What my Mom forwarded to me was this video clip hosted on You Tube. The video clip is of Nadia Comaneci’s granddaughter. NADIA COMANECI’S GRANDDAUGHTER. Her granddaughter’s delivery and performance shows a gift, talent and ability that had been polished and sharpened.
Although Nadia’s granddaughter could have recognized her genes of greatness and done nothing with those genes, she put in the time, exercised discipline and stayed committed to her process. The outcome of her focus, discipline and commitment was that she developed her genes of greatness.
“Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after another.” Walter Elliott
Each one of us is given genes of greatness. How we use these genes has a lot to do with our choosing. We can choose to use these genes — as Nadia’s granddaughter — to develop our greatness. We can polish and sharpen our gifts, talents and abilities in such a way to be excellent in our delivery.
“It’s not that I’m so smart , it’s just that I stay with problems longer .” Albert Einstein

And as you read these excerpts make a commitment to yourself to develop your genes of greatness, by staying focused, exercising discipline and not giving up.
Trust the process, trust a loving God and trust yourself my friend. More will be revealed to us. Craig J. Phillips
