Hello and welcome back to Second Chance to Live my friend. I am happy to see that you decided to stop by to visit with me. I have been thinking about how to manage feeling overwhelmed. Being overwhelmed may not be the best descriptor of what I am wanting to manage. In my experience, I have found that when I am feeling overwhelmed I am prone to being anxious. In my experience, I have found when I am anxious, I am prone to being distracted from what I would like to accomplish.
On the other hand, I have found that when I manage my anxiety and what I feel overwhelmed by, I am able to accomplish what I want to achieve in and through my life.
Specifically, I have several goals over which I feel overwhelmed at times. I want to increase in my self-awareness, grow in my relationship with the God of my understanding and in my relationships with the people who God brings into my life. In my experience. In my experience, I have found that I am less prone to experiencing anxiety and feeling overwhelmed when I break these goals into manageable bits and pieces. Consequently, instead of trying to master every facet of my life, I give myself the permission…
to examine and explore ways in which I can enhance each aspect / facet of my life — one at a time – my spirit, my soul, my body, my mind, my will and my intellect. By focusing on one aspect / facet of my life at a time, I am able to then celebrate the small successes that I make in my quest to enhance each aspect / facet of my life.
Today’s Thought
In life, you may feel overwhelmed and anxious by a goal or project that you are wanting to accomplish. My encouragement to you – as I encourage myself – break what you are wanting to accomplish into manageable bits and pieces. Work on those bits and pieces and by doing so you will be able to celebrate your small successes as you move toward your quest.
“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.” Mark Victor Hansen
