What I did not understand — at the time — was being used to create a beautiful tapestry. Jumbled multicolored threads — my experience — on the side that I could see were being used to create a design beyond belief on the side — of the tapestry — that I could not see.
What did not seem to make sense — to me — made perfect sense on the other side of the tapestry — each thread placed precisely.
What I had been hoping for was being created in and through me — by design. Nothing had been wasted.
With my experience I discovered that I could trust the process, a loving God and myself — because hope was and is at work in and through me.
What I discovered was that hope had always been present — even when– I could not see how hope was being created and formed in and through me.
What I discovered was that my circumstances were never meant to keep me down, but instead they were and have always been meant to build me up!
In the process of my awareness I came to realize that I could do the footwork while trusting the outcomes to a Power greater than myself — a loving God — who holds hope in His Hands.

hello craig,
wow, i am so inspired by you and your words. i have been working with survivors for around 10 years.. i began as a residential manager in a post acute rehab facility, then became the res. manager of an individual in his home, and now i am a home care provider for a young lady who was in an institution for 10 years. as a cancer survivor and heart broken over a divorce, i found that working with survivors gave me an incredible appreciation for life. my work has given me so much fulfillment, but i’ve always felt like my personal life was such a failure. your article helped me to realize that all that has happened to me has prepared me for what i am hoping for. and i truly have always maintained hope for a better future, it’s just seems so agonizing to always be waiting for “it” to happen! i have only been a home care provider for 6 1/2 months and i definitely underestimated how challenging and isolating it would be to do alone. i am trying so hard to keep my spirits up and your article helped me more than you could ever know.
THANKS!!! jill
p.s. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

Hi Jill,
Thank you so very much for writing and leaving a comment. I am honored by your kindness. Thank you for sharing some of your story with me Jill. I can definitely identify with you Jill. I am happy to hear that what I shared in the article empowered you Jill.
If you have not done so may I encourage you to read through the entire series — from Part 1 through Part 8 — starting with Part 1. I develop the idea of being — in hope with each Part of the article.
In my experience, I have found that there is tremendous power in identification. Several years ago I wrote an article on *The Power of Identification. I would invite you to read this article.
I do not know if you have read my 3 part series, *My Journey thus Far* https://secondchancetolive.org/2007/02/18/my-journey-thus-far Jill. My process may give you hope too Jill.
I created a *Site Map* https://secondchancetolive.org/site-map/ after creating Second Chance to Live to list links to the articles that I have written and published. Currently there are 524 articles listed in
my Site Map. Many of my articles have traumatic brain injury and living with a disability in their titles.
Many other articles do not make direct reference to traumatic brain injury or living with a disability. All of my articles contain information to encourage, motivate, empower and give hope.
May I encourage you to spend some time reading articles from my Site Map. I write my articles from the perspective of identification Jill. In the event that you have questions please ask. All questions are good questions and I may have already written an article addressing your questions.
I hope the above continues to empower you.
Have a peaceful day and God bless you Jill. Merry Christmas to you Jill.
Craig
