Hello and welcome back to Second Chance to Live my friend. I am happy to see that you decided to stop by and visit with me. You are always welcome around my table. Earlier today, while on my way to attending a Dr.’s appointment I had spiritual awakening. My spiritual awakening resonated with and reinforced my belief system.
Upon arriving at the location of the Dr.’s office I got out of my car to go inside for my appointment. As I was locking my car door I saw a man walking to his car. In passing I said to the man, “Have a great day.” He replied to me, “I will have to wait and see.” Upon hearing his response a light bulb went on in my consciousness. As I reflected on his statement I had these awarenesses.
By waiting to see how life is going to “look” I allow my well being to be held hostage to “when’s” and “what if’s “.
Instead of deciding to celebrate my present and take advantage of what is given to me, I relegate my happiness, contentment and well being to a time and a situation that may never exist. In the process, I willingly subject the stability of my vision and the vitality of my life to a dependence on variables that I can not anticipate or impact.
Consequently, through buying into the notion that I am subservient to the “when’s and what if’s” I set myself up to believe that unless I anticipate and plan accordingly — for the when’s and the what if’s — I can not possibly have a good day.
The good news is that I no longer have to allow myself to be shackled to the When’s and What if’s because they may never happen. Consequently, I no longer have to believe that I need to wait for the “when” and “if” to determine the status of my day. Instead I can choose to make my day a good day, simply because I choose to be empowered in my present.
Today’s Thought
Today, I choose to stay in the moment. I choose to look for the good in my present. I choose to stay present for myself. I choose to let go of the when’s and what if’s. I choose to stay in the present, to trust the process, a loving God and myself because I know that I am being taken care of in the present. I choose to savor my experience — in my present — because I realize that my present’s are the children of my destiny.
