When I realized that my circumstances were occurring for my good and not for my harm I began to look at my circumstances as my teachers. As a student I realized that my circumstances were providing the necessary tutoring to prepare me to be successful with life’s opportunities.
With my awareness I realized that I must commit myself to the process of learning to benefit from my circumstances. Through my process, I realized that I needed to maintain my willingness to learn from each of my circumstances, regardless of how those circumstances may appear to me at the present time. I also realized that I needed to stay true to myself and to my process. Conseqeuntly, I realized that I needed to take ownership for my feelings and how I choose to react — while I was being tutored by those circumstances. Subsequently, I realized that I could no longer blame any one for my circumstances or for how I choose to react to those circumstances.
My awareness has continued to empower my process because I no longer need to believe that I am a victim of my circumstances. With my understanding I have come to realize that I have choices. My realization has taught me that I no longer have to react to my circumstances. Instead, I can choose to learn from those circumstances — because I know that my circumstances are pointing me in the direction of my destiny. Consequently, I have come to realize that my circumstances are not meant to keep me down, but they are meant to build me up.
As I learn — because of my circumstances — my ability to trust the process, a loving God and myself continues to mature.
“Insist on yourself, never imitate. Your own gift you can present every moment with the cumulative force of a whole life’s cultivation; but of the adopted talent of another you only have an extemporaneous half-possession… Do that which is assigned to you, and you cannot hope too much or dare too much.” Henry David Thoreau
