Welcome back to Second Chance to Live. I am honored to have you as my guest. Your presence is highly valued and greatly appreciated. You are always welcome at my table. Today I want to share some wonderful realities with you. These realities did not change when we became disabled my friend. Although our delivery system may have changed after our accidents, our inherent uniqueness did not change. Our acquired disability re-wired our ability to bring forth a healing message of hope to our generation. Our disability empowers our capability to be effective in a world that desperately needs our presence. In essence, our acquired disabilities are gifts in disguise because they equip you and I to fulfill our purpose and destiny.
You and I were created for greatness. Greatness is not defined by our doing, but through our being. You and I were called to forth from our mother’s womb to prosper in mind, body and spirit. We are precious people and we will fulfill our purpose and destiny. Our presence casts rays of hope upon those in our world. Our creativity inspires those who are living in shadows to rise again. You and I were created for such a season. Having a disability becomes our ability. Our creative uniqueness is displayed through our weakness. We are made strong through trusting the process, a loving God and ourselves.
I believe you and I are champions because we do not give up or give in to discouragement. Although champions may fall down at times they determine rise again and keep moving in the direction of their dreams. Champions are determined to succeed regardless of how life may look at the present time. Champions look for solutions to their problems. Champions are remarkable people because they are resilient. Life may present champions with challenges and setbacks, but they refuse to give up on their process, on a loving God or on themselves.
Champions look at limitations and see opportunities yet to be discovered. Champions marvel at life because they are able to see the silver lining in circumstances that bewilder most people. Champions rise up in the face of frustration, because they know that solutions exist. Champions realize that although dark clouds may roll into their lives, those clouds will roll out. Champions find hope in the days events, because they chose to look for the possibilities. Champions realize they are running their own race, so they do not seek to prove their worth or value. Champions find solace in knowing their good is good enough. Champions do not see themselves as victims of their circumstances.
Today’s Thought
Life is a journey and not a destination. With all journeys there is a learning process. Progress rather than perfection is a suitable guide. Excellence provides the opportunity to grow at my own pace. I am not competing with anyone. On my journey I am allowed to travel at my own pace. Because I am running my own race I am encouraged to explore beyond expectations. As I explore I discover how to be resilient, what silver linings look like and what works best for me. My journey teaches me that good is good enough and that my worth and value is not in what I do, but in who I am. My being subsequently empowers my ability to find solutions and to consider the possibilities. As I find solutions to challenges, I am empowered to live life on life’s terms. As I live life on life’s terms, I live the life of a Champion.
