Greetings and welcome back to Second Chance to Live. I am delighted to have you back at my table. I have been thinking about a powerful choice: hope. When I focus upon hope I chose to be solution oriented. I am able to live life on life’s terms, because I know that more will be revealed. I am able to relax in the process because I am willing to learn from my opportunities.
As a traumatic brain injury survivor, I am given a privilege. I am able to take advantage of my set of circumstances. With my privilege I am set free from the belief that I am limited. In my awareness, I have discovered a profound truth. When I willing to learn from my circumstances, I prepare myself to live in the possibilities of tomorrow. The opportunities of today provide a threshold that launches me forward to fulfill my destiny.
When I chose to live life on life’s terms, I make the decision to look for solutions. I am then encouraged because I see myself experiencing life through the eyes of hope. Although I may not understand how all the “pieces” of life are going to fit together, I have confidence. I am assured that my opportunities are pointing me in the direction of my destiny. Consequently, I see myself as an empowered being, because I determine to take advantage of the possibilities.
I do not seek to justify my reality, because I accept my limitations and deficits. Nevertheless, I am not my limitations or my deficits, because I chose to learn from my process. My limitations, deficits and traumatic brain injuries are merely tools that I use to channel my hope. I am not my traumatic brain injury. My brain injury does not dictate to me, because hope ushers me beyond my limitations and deficits. I know that I have a destiny and a hope, because the love of God has been shed abroad in my heart.
