Welcome back to Second Chance to Live. I am happy you decided to stop by and rest. I have been thinking about the word honor. As the rudder of a large ship guides the ships passage, so will honor guide our lives. Whatever you and I honor – respect and esteem –invariably will receive our attention, energy and focus. What I honor will influence how I spend my time. At a different level, what I honor will receive my dedication, devotion and commitment.
With this awareness in mind, I need to ask myself what is receiving my honor today. What am I consciously and unconsciously devoting myself to on a daily basis. As with any good budget, my time and energy need to be assessed. As I inventory how I am spending my time and energy, I may find that I am honoring people and activities that do not enhance or empower my relationship with the God of my understanding, with the people I love, or with myself.
Today’s thought
I am glad that I am alive. I am thankful that I have choices. I can change my mind. Today if I find myself honoring people and activities that are not empowering me I will do something different. I will make small changes. I will take the risk to grow. I will learn to honor what I believe. I will learn to value what I honor. I will begin to celebrate what I honor, because what I honor is important to me.
