Life is a mystery filled with winding roads and sometimes, steep slopes. Each step can appear to be daunting and foreboding. Questions also arise, often too many, even before one can be answered. At times, my path appeared to be leading me into a maze of choices. Although I looked for specific directions, clarity often seemed to evade my understanding. At these times, I felt like I was in a dark room, attempting to find a light switch, so that I would not fall into a deep hole.
I have since learned that my journey does not have to possess specific clarity. I believe that I am given opportunities to learn and grow through all my decisions. Solutions and answers usually do not become apparent until I have learned what I am being taught. These lessons are for my good and not meant to undermine my steps.
By letting go of control, I am able to comprehend that more is being revealed with each new day. As I trust the process and surrender my will and my life to the God of my under-standing, the inevitable becomes obvious. God is often doing for me, what I could not do for myself.
I now understand that God has often protected me from people and situations that would have otherwise produced undue stress. Although, at the time, I may have wanted these people and situations to be apart of my life, I now see that they would have undermined what was best for me. Through trusting God, and being willing to learn from my choices, I can let go of the need to force solutions.
